Peggy Noe Stevens – 7.5

Nose: Buttermilk biscuits with orange marmalade. Vanilla-spice and red licorice. Cereal notes. Green pear and nutmeg.  Black currants and oak.

Palate: Brown sugar and marshmallow. Delicious oak playing alongside of blackberry and cantaloupe.

Finish: Cinnamon and clove rounded off with a wash of sweet caramel and chestnuts.

Comments: The flavor beats the nose on this one.  Pure or mixable, but let it rest over the rocks.

Susan Reigler – 7.2

Nose: Buttered buttermilk biscuits with orange blossom.

Palate: A bit of citrus followed by bread dough upon entry. This is followed by quite a bit of oak.

Finish: A long, peppery finish starts dry and ends even drier.

Comments: If your taste is more for a dry, oaky whiskey than one with a sweeter, fruit and baking spice profile, this will be very enjoyable.  Would hold its own in
a Manhattan.
