Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.5

Nose: Banana and fruit compote.  Sweet wood shavings. Pecan and melted marshmallow nougat.  Aromatic cayenne speaks softly.

Palate: Edgy floral notes intertwined with a bit of piquant. Heath candy bar and spice in a tasty interplay.

Finish: Pleasant and filling on the tongue.  Sweet-heat and fruit that holds with each sip.

Comments: Playful caliante with the cayenne shadow and I dig it.

Susan Reigler – 8.0 

Nose: Faint pine resin. A suggestion of overripe fruit and hothouse flowers as well.

Palate: Caramel, ripe apple, and some cinnamon appear in front of sweet oak and leather notes.

Finish: Sweet, burnt caramel lingers as intermittent flashes of pepper appear before it fads to sweet oak. 

Comments: It is always intriguing when the nose and the palate are so different. Would be worth having on the shelf just to have an example of this style.
