Nose: Warm brown sugar and sweet grains. Smouldering marshmallow that builds and spills on a cracker s’more. Toasty oak and earth that flows into leathery aromas. Light spice and red apple notes too.
Palate: Cinnamon brioche with a cool vanilla icing.
Finish: Gentle finish with just enough spice to tingle the lips on the sip. Sweet and dry with nice streaks of pepper and oak.
Comments: Oh my, what a pleasure to sip.
Susan Reigler – 8.8
Nose: Caramel and dark fruit, such as raisins and dates, with some brown sugar and toasted marshmallow.
Palate: Light caramel, which changes to burnt vanilla and then it changes again to milk chocolate. Brown sugar outshines the fruit, which changes to figs.
Finish: Caramel notes return, along with the raisins from the nose.
Comment: Well-balanced and complex. The proof is well chosen with water having little or no effect on the enjoyment of it.
