Carl T Bourbon Whiskey
Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.4
Nose: Vibrant butterscotch and caramel with marshmallow. Crème Brule. Bananas and blackberries with a not so distant allspice and apple pie.
Palate: Rush of cinnamon and clove that settles nicely to a toasted coconut and creamy vanilla pudding.
Finish: Spicy mouthfeel that finishes with a good dose of tannins.
Comment: Sip and enjoy the ride on the spice surprise that captures your attention and enjoy.
Susan Reigler – 8.2
Nose: Rich caramel sauce verging on toffee. Berries and cherries provide fruity notes. Cinnamon spice
Palate: Fruit turns citrusy on the palate. The caramel forms the baseline and fruit is balanced by some dry oak and pepper.
Finish: Mostly oak and pepper on the finish, but it is not at all hot.
Comment: Definitely add a splash of water to this to unlock flavors that seem to be tangled up in the alcohol. This would also make a distinctive Manhattan.
