Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.3

Nose: Gentle nose of caramel and honey. Black currants and light coffee. Orange and crouton toasts. Pleasant nose of pipe tobacco.

Palate: Milk chocolate and toffee that flirts with raisin and fig. Touch of wood and char rests on the tongue. Distinct clove accents that merry with the sweetness.

Finish: Unobtrusive with the spices of clove and cinnamon. Subtle.

Comment: Approachable with a crisp texture that an ice cube would  certainly enjoy melting.

Susan Reigler – 8.0

Nose: Roasted corn, vanilla wafers, and some pecans or walnuts emerge first. After a few minutes, there is some green apple and baking spice, followed by a sprinkling of pepper.

Palate: Multigrain bread dough with baking spice, some light mint, and more nuts. Oak and pepper.

Finish: Dries very quickly to light oak. No trace of bitterness.

Comment: The different components all exhibit themselves with a light touch. Would get lost in a cocktail.
