Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.9

Nose: Beautiful nose with banana and backed by a solid feel of oak. Big cereal notes and smoky goodness of molasses.

Palate: Builds on your palate with huge campfire smoke and classy wood tannins. Spicy nutmeg and ginger abound only to feel the candied dates and fig.

Finish: Full-flavored finish that is long, sweet and dry.

Comment: Clamps down a bit at the beginning bite then circulates the entire mouth for a truly pleasant expression.

Susan Reigler – 9.0

Nose: Spicy caramel with cinnamon-sprinkled baked apples. The malt takes over and the nose becomes more like a malted milk ball coved in light chocolate.

Palate: Happily, the malted milk ball is the predominant flavor on the palate, with a bit of cinnamon and fruit providing balance.

Finish: The finish becomes nutty and the nuts and spices persist in a long finish.

Comment: A little water releases more baking spice, such as cinnamon and allspice.
