Louisville journalist, Sara Havens has joined the team at Mint Julep Experiences as director of marketing.
Having previously worked as culture editor for Insider Louisville, Havens has provided extensive coverage of the Bourbon industry during her tenure and will now take on a vital role in this growing company.
“We are honored to have Sara join our team,” says Sean Higgins, co-founder of Mint Julep Experiences. “Over the last 12 years, we have admired her approach in making this industry more accessible and enjoyable for all. Her writing and marketing leadership will continue to inspire us to create fun and lasting memories for our guests.”
Mint Julep Experiences runs daily Bourbon and whiskey tours and experiences in both Kentucky and Tennessee, as well as the Bourbon City Cruisers fleet of tuk-tuks in downtown Louisville. Here, Havens will manage both marketing and public relations.
“I look forward to taking on a new chapter in my career, one that involves my favorite pastime – Bourbon,” says Havens. “I am passionate about the industry, and I have always respected Sean and Lisa Higgins for their fervor and dedicated commitment to building one of the country’s best tour experiences.”
Havens is best known for her Bar Belle columns, which were published regularly during her 15 years at LEO Weekly and continued at Insider Louisville and online at BarBelleBlog.com. She has published two books, “The Bar Belle Vol. 1” and “The Bar Belle Vol. 2.”
