Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.2

Nose: First nose of cardamom and wood sugars. Rich floral notes herbal essence of basil and rosemary. Bright apricot and golden apple notes too.

Palate: Nutty walnut goodness along with yeasty dough flavors layered with caramel and oak.

Finish: Soft pucker of astringency that evens things out quietly displaying the earthy notes and fruit.

Comment: Friendly and pleasant to share with a Macanudo cigar.

Susan Reigler – 8.0

Nose: Freshly cut grass leaps out, followed by lemon peel and some subtle vanilla notes.

Palate: Vanilla and lemon are the most apparent flavors followed by some intriguing herbal spice accompanied by brown sugar.

Finish: The finish changes fairly quickly from the fruit and vanilla to oak and spice.

Comment: A little water further sweetens this already sweet whiskey and tamps down the spices. Best to sip neat.
