Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.3

Nose: Decidedly pleasant grassy-hay aroma with crushed almonds on the back end, faintly breezing through creamy hints of buttered toffee.

Palate: Warm overture of oak and sweetness.  Cool taste of white pepper and mint. Glossy bites of white cherry and a citrus-vanilla.

Finish: Approachable and easy, fresh oak and wood sugar blends with a soft, smokey finish.

Comment: This is a comfortable companion to sip and take you into the evening.

Susan Reigler – 7.9

Nose:  A pleasant light peatiness that’s not overwhelmingly smoky. It dominates the nose to the exclusion of other aromas, save for iodine.

Palate: Peat on the tongue is joined by some vanilla and a tiny suggestion of apple, accompanied by oak.

Finish: Once again there is peat, peat, peat, and more peat that lingers with a dash of pepper.

Comment: Both the extremely pale color and the simple nose indicate that this whiskey is very young. It is certainly not bad, simply not complex.
