Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon
Michter’s Distillery Co.
Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.8
Nose: Warm caramel and creamy vanilla sprinkled with cinnamon that lingers on the nose but does not overpower. Banana and delicate red delicious apple are inviting.
Palate: Cinnamon repeats itself on a spicy zip and then hovers beautifully around a plush caramel candy and sweet grain. Raisin and leather notes seep through the wood sugar.
Finish: Full mouthfeel and lingering spice that is sweet and dry.
Comment: Sippin’ whiskey made to enjoy.
Susan Reigler – 8.8
Nose: Complex. Caramel, toffee and some new leather, along with pears and apples.
Palate: Lots of caramel corn is supported by some apricots and some pepper spice. Not as complex as the nose, but very well balanced with a rich mouthfeel.
Finish: The caramel gives way to dry oak and a good dash of black pepper. The tannins linger for some time.
Comment: This is a very smooth, rich sip, which is also sturdy enough to hold up very well in any cocktail.
