Peggy Noe Stevens – 7.9

Nose: Big cherry and anise blast on the scene, yet is heightened by a warm ginger ale aroma. Crushed candy corn pushes through.

Palate: True to the cherry aroma, a white grape climbs on board the palate and then whisks in some orange citrus notes.

Finish: Enjoyable finish that lingers with the cherry and reminds you of a Christmas Springerle cookie.

Comment: Put over ice for a nice refreshing sip, or add club soda for a dazzling holiday drink.

Susan Reigler – 7.5

Nose: Very, very sweet! Smells of amaretto cookies. Lots of sugar, marzipan, and cherries.

Palate: The taste is not as complex as the nose. The amaretto-like sweetness muscles out any of the fruit.

Finish: Cloying sweetness with some flashes of light spice towards the end. Not enough to keep it from being classified as just a sugar rush.

Comment: There are some good, and classic, whiskey liqueurs. Be warned, this one is much sweeter than some.
