We’re back again and kicking the week off in the best possible way, with some delicious holiday recipes from Michter’s and Thomas Joseph, the culinary director at Martha Stewart.

If you love to get a little bit of spice into your cooking, this is definitely the one for you!

We’d love to see your take on the dishes this holiday season, so be sure to tag us all over on social media at @tojo827@michterswhiskey and @americanwhiskeymag.

Sweet and Spicy Maple-Rye Glaze for Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup Michter’s US*1 Rye
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves

Method

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, maple syrup, rye, cinnamon and cayenne. Cook, whisking occasionally, until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Whisk in the thyme.

Brush or baste your favorite winter squash or root vegetables, for example acorn squash, butternut squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, parsnips, onions or shallots, during the last 15-20 minutes of roasting, until sticky and caramelized.
