Proof: 86
ABV: 43%
Style: Blended
Price: $$

Peggy Noe Stevens 7.5

Nose: Fragrant clove and baking spices. Blackberries and spiced baked apples. A licorice, currant, sweet sorghum and candied ginger.

Palate: Burst of cinnamon and anise on first taste. Meanders to the dark brown sugar and glaring licorice.  Some herbaceous pine and smoked wood.

Finish: Lasts quite long on the licorice and spice notes. Settles to leathers and softened clove.

Comments: Like a Christmas liqueur in a bottle that has a hearty nose and taste.

Susan Reigler 7.9

Nose: Cardamom! Like walking into an Indian restaurant. You will love it or hate it.

Palate: Bearing in mind that this a liqueur, the viscosity and sweetness is certainly appropriate, though whiskey drinkers may be taken aback. The strong cardamom flavors are balanced by citrus notes.

Finish: Sweet. Aromatic spice lingers.

Comments: If you like cardamom, this will be an unusual and interesting choice for an after-dinner sip. Try with an ice cube, too.
