Peggy Noe Stevens 9.2

Nose: Dates and figs with some butterscotch and dark chocolate.Caramel with nougat and graham cracker. Leather and blackberry.

Palate: Plush texture, lively spice and sweet notes. Vanilla bean and baked apples. Sorghum and dark caramel reappear. Stone fruits are inviting.

Finish: A gentle giant regardless of the proof in just the right way. Long, sweet and dry finish.

Comments: Well-proportioned and exciting to drink!

Susan Reigler 8.8

Nose: Pitted fruit, peaches and apricots, with vanilla, milk chocolate, peppery herbs, and sweet nuts Warm hayloft, too.

Palate: A rich layer of caramel, with vanilla frosting, baking spice, and leather and oak.

Finish: Very warm, as would be expected given the proof. But it is certainly not hot. Dries to oak tannins.

Comments: A complex sip becomes even more so with the addition of some water, which also helps merge all of the flavor nuances.
