Peggy Noe Stevens 7.6

Nose: Creamy caramel and nougat with toasted pecans. Bing cherries and apricot. Butterscotch and marzipan. White pepper spice with an herbal cast of basil. Earthy-soft oak.

Palate: Warm brown sugar and cotton candy sweetness. Spice heats in the back as a reminder of the white pepper and herbal note. Nutty walnut and ginger mix.

Finish: Sweet and warm with lingering soft oak.

Comments: If you go for a sweet-spice combo appeal, this one is definitely for you.

Susan Reigler 8.0

Nose: Sweet mint and baking spices with some clove and honey. A faint echo of herbs and grass hints at the rye base.

Palate: The sugar and spices in a Scandinavian bakery, brown sugar, cardamom, clove, honey and crushed nuts.

Finish: The sweetness coats the tongue and stays around for a long time, as does the cardamom.

Comments: A very interesting addition to any cabinet of post-dinner liqueurs. Add an ice cube to cut through the viscosity.
