Peggy Noe Stevens

Nose
Buttery and herbal combination. Some celery and grassy hay. Expressively fresh scent of light ginger and sweet vanilla pudding.

Palate
An inviting balance of smoke and crushed almond toffee. The grassy-earthy flavor surpasses the smoke, then into some nice sweet honey.

Finish
Laid back after the smoke. Ginger continues to festively dance on the tongue.

Comments
Boat loads of class in this whiskey, refined yet it’s also ready for action.

Score

8.8

Susan Reigler

Nose
Quite fruity with some brown sugar making it quite similar to Bourbon. But the fruit is girded by the malted graininess of barley.

Palate
Sweet character is maintained with ripe red apple, like slices of fruit on Grape Nuts cereal. Nicely balanced.

Finish
Starts sweet and dries to a very light oak with a little pepper skipping about and lasting the longest.

Comments
A lovely warming whiskey even at this relatively modest proof. Quite easy to just sip neat.

Score

8.5
