War 2020 5 Years Old
Peggy Noe Stevens
Nose: Bright oak and smoke with a caramel glaze. Light allspice and clove. Stone fruits and touches of butterscotch.
Palate: Caramel and oak tannins, then spicy blend of black pepper and cinnamon that heats up just right. Dense blackberry combo with dates and fig.
Finish: Delightful tingle that does not overbear but lengthens with time, finishing dry and sweet.
Comments: Traditional Bourbon flavor to enjoy on the rocks, or neat… spice is just the right tingle to tantalize.
Nose: Appealing toffee brittle with dark chocolate sprinkles, cherry cola, and cinnamon spice.
Palate: The cherry cola is first, followed swiftly by caramel, milk chocolate, roasted cashews and stone fruit. The baking spice is faint, but still present.
Finish: A very long, mellow finish with oak and stone fruit as snuggly warmth settles.
Comments: So smooth and drinkable at this proof. In a cocktail it would be like a sleeper agent mingling in.
