Nose: Loads of wood sugar and grain mixed in with some green apple and pear. Some dark raisin and coffee notes.

Palate: The sugary note still reveals, but some cinnamon spice and ginger appear and level it out.

Finish: A bit hot and slightly tannic but
lasts on the palate awhile to decide.

Comments: May make a good Manhattan with the sweet and
spice combo.

Score

7.4

Nose: Practise patience with this, as it takes time for light dill, caraway, and sweet pepper notes to emerge. A note of freshly pared apple peel makes a showing.

Palate: The flavor medley on the nose is all but washed away on a tide of pepper and oak as the whisky moves along the tongue.

Finish: Long and persistent, but definitely one-dimensional. Peppery oak throughout.

Comments: A few drops of water are highly recommended. A little caramel will come out.

Score

7.2
