Nose
Crusty cinnamon brioche with a vanilla drizzle and dark cherry with oak. Savory notes of char and bacon. Soft clove and coconut.
Palate
Caramel and nougat. Sweet toffee and dark chocolate. The cherry note comes alive along with mandarin orange. Herbal mint and black pepper.
Finish
Decadent finish that elevates the caramel and plays on with heat from the spice.
Comments
Robust; truly a stand-up whiskey with bags of flavor intensity.
Score
8.9

Nose
Waves of caramel waft from the glass with some dark cherry preserve and notes of fine pipe tobacco. A little new leather, too.
Palate
The fruit and caramel vie on a full palate which includes cherries, herbal spice, and old book leather.
Finish
Sweeter elements yield to dry tannins rather quickly. Sensation of pepper and oak at the end.
Comments
Adding water amplifies the fruit and caramel in a big way. Use an ice cube to let the flavors unfold.
