Nose: Corn pudding and cane sugar. Dark fruit, like candied dates and figs. Pipe smoke and coffee.Mascarpone and baking spices.

Palate: Nice full mouthfeel that is almost buttery. Complex array of flavors from sweet corn to baking spices to mature oak.

Finish: Silk and lace finish with a structure that is handsome. Has staying power finishing with a honeyed edge.

Comments: Truly a flavor-flood of finesse and amply balanced. Dive in.

Score

8.9

Nose: Caramel. Vanilla. Caramel. Vanilla. Rich interplay of notes from the barrel. Underlying aromas are floral rather than fruity, with a touch of freshly ground spice.

Palate: Flowers turn to fruit – apples, apricots, plums, figs. Add a little water and the vanilla changes to berry-topped crème brûlée. Rich and complex too.

Finish: Long and semi-dry. Warms all the way down. Oak is sweet with no trace of bitterness.

Comments: Savor this and share with serious Bourbon aficionados.

Score

9.1
