Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Wold Spirit Distillery
Peggy Noe Stevens
Nose: Butterscotch, candied dates, green apple, and cotton candy. Caraway seed and mild pepper. Vanilla icing and slivered almond.
Palate: Honey rich and full bodied with coatings of caramel and ginger. Milk chocolate builds with some wood sugar.
Finish: Deliciously long and keeps you thinking about vanilla and wood sugar. Heightened ginger is the grand finale.
Comments: Wakes up your palate with that punch of ginger in an inviting and most congenial way.
Nose: Wisps of wood smoke float out of the glass with toasted marshmallow, baked Golden Delicious apple and allspice for an appealing, complex nose.
Palate: Rich toffee shot through with milk chocolate and topped with crumbled, sugar-coated almonds. Subtle citrus and nutmeg.
Finish: Toffee and fruit are joined by oak as the long finish, helped along by a rich mouthfeel, gradually rolls out.
Comments: A classic whiskey to enjoy fireside with a good book.
