Peggy Noe Stevens

Nose
Fresh, malty aroma. Golden-brown sugar sweetness with light mocha. Bread dough and roasted peanuts. Vanilla wafers and drizzles of honey.
Palate
Cereal grain flavors with hints of mint and delicate white pepper. Oak essence with splashes of drying hay. Slight banana bread and pistachio.
Finish
Easy-going and light, pleasant and warm on the tongue.

Comments
I’d pack this in a flask to enjoy on a chilly day. One you can truly savor all day.

8.3

Susan Reigler

Nose
Candied fruit and nutty malt aromas lead. Underlying those are baking spices and a trace of bright new oak.

Palate
Apples and pears coated in brown sugar. Nuts are very faint, but present. Evolves into some sweet oak. A rich mouthfeel.

Finish
Here is where the malt character is most apparent, though it is not aggressive. Lingers more in the mouth than the throat.

Comments
Wears its malt whiskey identity very lightly. Nicely balanced.

Score

8.0
