First Look: Angel’s Envy Expansion

Angel's Envy has undergone an $8.2 million expansion to more than double tourism capacity at the Main Street Louisville facility.

Bourbon Country is under construction. Thanks to the popularity of Bourbon and Bourbon tourism, there are new rickhouses, expanded visitor experiences, and more production capacity at almost every Kentucky Distillery.

Angel’s Envy is among those expanding, and the main reason was that they found they were turning away as many tours as they were booking for lack of capacity. They decided that in Bourbon Country, that could not stand.

Today Angel’s Envy is 13,000 square feet larger than the original 90,000 square-foot footprint. This more than doubles tourism capacity at the Main Street Louisville facility to accommodate 100,000 visitors per year.

Among the upgrades are five new tasting rooms, a bottle-your-own experience, additional bar space, and an event space complete with catering kitchen.

The expansion is expected to be complete and open to the public in early June, though traditional tours are still ongoing.

Once the expansion is complete and fully open, tours will include a signature tour complete with a whiskey tasting in one of the new tasting rooms. Guests will also have the opportunity to experience a bottle-your-own single barrel only available at the distillery.

Additionally, cocktail classes that were offered before Covid will resume once the expansion is complete.

The event center is currently available for booking.

Toursof Angel’s Envy are by advanced reservation only and can be booked here. Information about booking events can be found here.
