High West has announced the latest edition of The Prisoner’s Share, a blend of straight rye and bourbon whiskeys finished in red wine barrels for four to 12 years. In 2022, High West Distillery partnered with The Prisoner Wine company to release two limited-edition bottlings— The Prisoner’s Share and Complicit, a red blend aged for 12 months. The 2025 edition of Prisoner’s Share is a whiskey that showcases the variety of flavors possible when finishing whiskey in red wine barrels.

Tasting notes provided by High West say this whiskey has notes of pomegranate kernels, pecan brittle, and orange zest on the nose, followed by cacao nibs, brown butter caramel and bergamot tea on the palate, and a finish of blackcurrant jam and subtle rye spice.
