Milam & Greene Whiskey has announced the release of its Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
The distillery has used its signature mashbill, which includes malted rye, under the stipulations required for a bottled-in-bond whiskey, to create this limited release.
The bottled-in-bond designation is applied under specific circumstances outlined in the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. Under the act, bottled-in-bond whiskey must be distilled in a single season, in a single location, with the name of distillery on the label. The spirit must be aged for at least four years in a US bonded warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
The journey to Milam & Greene’s Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been an exercise in patience for the distillery’s whiskey blender and CEO Heather Greene. “We’ve been eagerly monitoring the maturation of this bourbon for almost five freaking years and watching how it has developed into its gorgeous flavors over time,” she said.
Greene continued: “I am over the moon with how this turned out. The use of the column stills in Kentucky and adherence to the Bottled in Bond Act regulations added a refinement and subtlety that fans of traditional bourbon will love.”
Tasting notes shared by the brand highlight flavours of candy corn, chocolate malt, honey, oak, and spearmint in the new release.
Milam & Greene Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey is available now at RRP $64.99 via selected US retailers, the Milam & Greene website, and at the distillery tasting room in Blanco, Texas.
