This week, New Riff Distilling and Silver Grove Community Foundation opened a new park at Green Valley Pond in celebration of Earth Day. Funds for the park were raised through sales of the New Riff Silver Grove Commemorative Edition.

New Riff is based in Newport, Kentucky. It opened a barrel warehouse in Silver Grove in 2022. “We knew we wanted to support that community through our philanthropic efforts like we do Newport,” said New Riff president Mollie Lewis.

“We’re thrilled to see people loved the 2023 Silver Grove release so much that we’re able to donate $16,830 to the foundation — and we are excited to see what more we can accomplish together with our 2024 releases.”

The Silver Grove Community Foundation runs community-led projects in the Kentucky city. The park project supported by New Riff has seen the Green Valley Pond area improved with recycled plastic benches, bins, and message boards. Next on the foundation’s list is a recreational trail around the pond.

New Riff has now announced the 2024 edition of its Silver Grove Bourbon. Alongside it will be the distillery’s first Silver Grove Rye. Both are bottled at a barrel proof of 116.4 (58.2% ABV).

According to assistant head distiller Bryon Martin, Silver Grove Bourbon 2024 has notes of “dark red fruits and rye spices”, while the Silver Grove Rye is “delightfully aggressive”, with notes of mint, pepper, citrus, and vanilla.

New Riff Silver Grove Bourbon and Rye will both be available exclusively at the New Riff gift shop for $55.99.
