Peggy Noe Stevens

Nose
Fudge brownies with a butterscotch drizzle. Hazelnut cream and dried apricots. Peppercorn and cola.

Palate
High cinnamon spice on first sip, then settles a bit to the milk chocolate and splashes of dark fruit. Caramelized wood sugar.

Finish
Spices carry through to the finish and quite lengthy. Bold oak tannins that bite a bit.

Comments
Lavish spices that coil the tongue at first sip, a block of ice mellows the muscle.

8.0

Susan Reigler

Nose
Vanilla and sweet cherries roll out of the glass first. Wheat thin crackers follow closely behind with a faint herbal note for balance.

Palate
Crème brûlée and berries here, along with some pepper spice and light oak tannins, which grow as the whiskey moves across the tongue.

Finish
Tannins win a medium-long peppery finish.

Comments
A bit assertive for a wheat whiskey. Add water to help the vanilla and fruit to have their say. A touch of licorice pops up, too.

Score

8.1
