Okay, not to call it too early here, but baby it’s cold outside and I’m ready for a hot toddy.
This week’s Friday Cocktail Club is bringing you all of the autumnal vibes as we showcase a High West concoction, the Utah-based distillery, to share the Quit-n Time Hot.
As always, enjoy responsibly and tag us in your finished cocktail on social media!
High West Quit’n Time Hot
Glass
Mug of your choice
Ingredients
2 oz. High West Double Rye!
3 oz. spiced lemonade, hot*
A cinnamon stick or lemon wheel
Prep
Add both ingredients to a pre-heated mug or goblet and stir briefly. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or lemon wheel.
*Spiced lemonade
Makes about 3 quarts, enough for about 30 cocktails. Can also be a standalone no-ABV beverage for both kids and adults.
5 cups sugar
4 cups water
2 lemons, cut in half
18 to 20 cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
1 vanilla bean
1 whole nutmeg
About 5 cups lemon juice
Add all the ingredients, except the lemon juice, to a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat to a simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and strain. Measure the volume of the spiced syrup mixture and add an equal volume of lemon juice, plus one and half times the volume of additional water (i.e. for each cup of syrup, add a cup of lemon juice and a cup and a half of water).
