Peggy Noe Stevens – 8.6

Nose: Vanilla and maple syrup with delicate floral notes of rose and honeysuckle. Gingerbread and licorice hist the nose on second aroma with wood sugar elevating to the oak.

Palate: Toasted walnut and coffee notes that meander back to a sweet honey-granola and all-spice. Milk chocolate and coconut shavings with a back end of apple.

Finish: Smooth texture here, almost glossy with nice complexity.

Comment: Deserves your attention on any night really.

Susan Reigler – 7.9 

Nose: Caramel with some subtle spicy dark chocolate aromas and a bit of dark cherry.   

Palate: Very rich caramel with roasted corn and a good deal of oak and spice. The proof heat is noticeable. Milk chocolate and cinnamon with a little orange emerge with water. 

Finish: Dries very quickly to oak. But, rather surprisingly, the fruit reappears. 

Comment: Definitely add water to unlock the flavors and tame the pepper heat.
