Nose: Warm cherry-caramel structure with soft floral frame. Nice oak overtures and leather for an earthy reveal. White pepper and cardamom. Corn pudding and Crème Brûlée topping.
Palate: Candied dates and stone fruit with rich dark chocolate and caramel. Welcoming black pepper to heat the back end of the mouth.
Finish: Long, spice finish to the end that extinguishes eloquently.
Comment: My kind of Bourbon to drink, robust and polished.
Susan Reigler – 9.0
Nose: Vanilla and either Crème Brûlée of toasted marshmallow, complemented by cherries and sweet almonds. Very aromatic without being hot.
Palate: Rich vanilla, light caramel, some milk chocolate with a little honey and nuts.
Finish: Does not quit. The complex flavors persist for a very long time before finally succumbing to bone dry oak and pepper.
Comment: Complex and beautifully balanced. Add only a drop or two of water.
